Terms: Payment before despatch, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required for castings made to order.
Prices and specifications are those ruling on 1 January 2012, and are expected to remain unchanged in 2012, subject to correction of any errors
or oversights by me.
So far prices have only been adjusted on Jan 1st of each year.
Before making any payment please enquire first for availability and cost of delivery.
VAT does not apply (not registered).
CAUTION: some live steam designs specify under-sized wheels for extra clearance, such as for the 'Project' tender. Others may have slightly
under-sized drivers to allow for over-scale model flanges. Please check before ordering.
These castings are NOT expected to be strong enough to be gripped from the centre only when turning
the tread. Castings should be gripped by their shoulders, or in the later stages between discs each side of the tyre.
See Turning suggestions.
CUTTING TOOLS: lathe tools with replaceable tips having a small tip radius are ideal for most metals - but on cast iron they can produce a hard shiny
surface and crumbling at the edges. I have had no problems with sharp pointed (roughing) carbide tipped tools.
The images of the castings are about life size on 17" flat screens
set at 1024 x 768 pixels.
They are much the same on 19" screens at 1280 x 1024 pixels.
To view this site as it was written use the Arial, Sans serif font setting with medium text size.
(On Windows: tools > internet options > fonts)
Some of the text pages may look a bit narrow on larger screens. They are set at 650 pixels wide for printing out on A4 paper.
