GWR 4-6-0 Hall, early locos, (prototype and at least one other) driving wheel

6′ 0″ diam., 20 oval spokes, rectangular inner rim, 4″ apparent tread.
Hub 17″ face dia., 1¼″ out from the tyre, pin in line with the spokes at 15″.

The photo in Russell shows No 4901 with the pin in line on unreinforced drivers. I do not know which others had similar wheels. Photos in Locos Illus No 140 Swindon's New Century part 3 show that at least two Locos of the first production lot, Locos 4921 and 4954 had the later Collett reinforced drivers.
Haresnape shows Nos 5943 and 5955 also with the later Collett reinforced drivers.

Castings: 42 mm tread diam., 37.0 i/d., hub centre 0.7 mm out from the tyre. Pin at 8.75 mm.

This example shows a tyre width of 3.5 mm for Gauge 0 Fine.
For Scale7 remove more metal from the back of the wheel to give a tyre thickness of 3.2 mm instead of 3.5 mm.
